Staying in a Chalet: the secret to a successful group holiday

Staying in a Chalet: the secret to a successful group holiday

23 Oct 2025
Want to bring together all your friends or your big family for a week in the mountains? Whether in winter or summer, staying in a chalet is the ideal solution to comfortably accommodate a large group — couples, children, and solo travelers alike. Cozy private bedrooms, spacious living areas, a fireplace, or even a private jacuzzi: our Charline and Ancolie chalets are sure to become your go-to destination for unforgettable group holidays.

Stay in a Chalet for up to 16 guests (or More!)

As the saying goes, the more, the merrier! That’s why accommodation capacity should never stop you from organizing a group holiday. Your contagious energy and persuasive enthusiasm have convinced all your friends, siblings, cousins, and cousins-in-law to join your mountain adventure? Perfect! Trust us to find comfortable beds for everyone.

The perfect solution for a group holiday of up to 16 guests: stay in one of our chalets in Tignes le Lac. Our two chalets, Ancolie and Charline, feature 6 and 7 independent bedrooms respectively and can each accommodate up to 16 guests.

Want to travel with more than 16 people? No problem! Here are two options we offer:
- Rent both neighboring chalets for up to 32 guests (16 + 16).
- Rent one chalet (Charline or Ancolie) and add the Petite Charline apartment next door, for a group of up to 22 guests (16 + 6).

Enjoy a Chalet holiday in Tignes with all your ski-loving friends

Our two exceptional chalets, Charline and Ancolie, are ideally located in Tignes le Lac, just steps from the Tignes–Val d’Isère ski area — the perfect base for ski enthusiasts from late November to early May!

Among the many features that instantly immerse you in the magic of winter sports: a large private ski locker, raclette and fondue sets, a wine cellar for your cheese feasts, and a real, fully functional fireplace!

The comfort of independence

When traveling in a group, noise levels can rise quickly… A “quiet evening” can turn into karaoke night, laughter fills the air over a simple card game, and voices climb in pitch to be heard across the table over the bubbling fondue pot. Then come the dreaded knocks on the door: “Could you please keep it down? We’re trying to sleep…”

Staying in an independent chalet eliminates any risk of upsetting early-to-bed neighbors — and any frustration of having to lower your voice or contain your joy right when you should be celebrating most: during your group vacation!

Conversely, staying in a chalet also allows you to retreat from noisy neighbors if you’re traveling with babies or young children who go to bed early. The best of both worlds: close to everything, yet far from everyone.

The fireplace: the quintessential Chalet charm

In everyone’s mind, a fireplace is inseparable from a mountain holiday — especially a ski trip. Yet, in reality, few accommodations actually feature one.
Both our Ancolie and Charline chalets have real, working fireplaces — one modern, the other traditional.

Firewood is provided, so all you have to do is strike a match to enjoy the gentle crackling of burning logs. Pull up a chair, stretch your toes toward the warm glow of the fire… Pure happiness guaranteed.

Stay in a chalet with a private jacuzzi

A chalet with a fireplace is wonderful… but a chalet with both a fireplace and a jacuzzi is even better! Our exceptional Ancolie chalet offers both: the crackling fire in the living room and relaxing bubbles in the outdoor hot tub on the large terrace with a view.

It’s the perfect touch of indulgence for any season — in winter, after a day on the slopes; in summer, to soothe your muscles after a hike; or in autumn, the ultimate cozy-evening season.

A chalet with a jacuzzi is the icing on the cake for your group getaway: not only do you share activities during the day, but you can also unwind together in your private hot tub — without worrying about curious ears overhearing your latest adventures, as they might in shared spa facilities!

Enjoy a chalet holiday without giving up convenience

Staying in a chalet sometimes means being far from the heart of the resort and its amenities — but not with Altitude Résidences! Both our chalets are located in Tignes le Lac, just a short walk from shops, restaurants, the pharmacy, a grocery store, and even a local cheese shop. You can also easily reach other parts of the resort via the free shuttle (the Bec Rouge stop is just a 3-minute walk away).

With Altitude Résidences, you enjoy all the advantages of a chalet holiday — independence, charm, peace, comfort, and space — without the drawbacks, like geographic isolation.
