Altitude Résidences to La Rosière

Book your vacation on the French-Italian border!

"Benvenuto" on vacation in La Rosière, the resort where life is seen in… green, white, and red!

And for good reason: this “small” family-friendly ski resort in Savoie, which has everything a big one does, is connected in winter to the La Thuile ski area in Italy’s Aosta Valley. Enjoy la dolce vita, pizza, and pasta just a few turns away on the slopes of the connected Espace San Bernardo ski area.

"Ski vacations in La Rosière " go hand in hand with… sunscreen!

Perched on a balcony at an elevation of 1,850 meters, La Rosière offers a breathtaking 180° view of the Tarentaise Valley. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen before heading to the “ Lodge des Glaciers ”: its south-facing location will make you want to relax on the terrace at any time of day, your nose turned toward the sun, your eyes closed in bliss behind your sunglasses (or rather, your Category 4 lenses).

Vacations in La Rosière : A Must for Families in Both Winter and Summer

La Rosière ’s ability to welcome families so easily (it even holds the “Famille Plus” certification) is also due to the fact that many of the establishments are still run today by the children and grandchildren of the resort’s founders. A true… family affair! La Rosière ? A well-kept secret (but for how long?) for all lovers of mountain vacations in every season!

La Rosière – San Bernardo Area

All the "skiing" highlights of a vacation in La Rosière

Fondue or pizza? When you're on vacation in La Rosière, you don't have to choose!

La Rosière ’s ski area in the Tarentaise Valley, just a short trip from the Lodge des Glaciers, is connected to the Italian resort of La Thuile in the Aosta Valley. In other words: in a single day, you can ski and enjoy the best of France and Italy! Great snow, great cheese, great pizza. Tutto bene!

Both beginner and expert skiers have a great time on vacation in La Rosière

The ski slopes of the Espace San Bernardo, which takes its name from the Petit Saint Bernard Pass (closed to traffic in winter!), enjoy dual north-south exposure.
As for La Rosière —as you may have guessed by taking a closer look at the resort’s logo—you can ski in the sun all day long, with spectacular views of the Tarentaise Valley and Mont Pourri. The ski runs—mostly green and blue—are particularly well-suited for families, beginners, and “leisurely” skiers (though you can also challenge yourself on the few lovely red and black runs on this side of the mountain during your vacation at La Rosière).
On the La Thuile side, skiing is more challenging and technical, with a higher proportion of red and black runs facing north. You have to earn that pasta!

Vacation in La Rosière : Don't miss this spectacular view!

The border crossing into Italy is via the Fort de la Redoute, which offers a panoramic view of Mont Blanc. Take this opportunity to walk all the way to the end of the “Panoramic Experience” footbridge—suspended over the abyss—to take a photo (or even better: a 360° Instagram Story spanning France and Italy). Stunning!

Snow is guaranteed during your vacation in La Rosière

In total, the interconnected San Bernardo ski area boasts 154 km of downhill ski runs (certified length!), making it the 13th-largest ski area in France and the 34th-largest in the world. Another key figure for stats enthusiasts: 83% of the ski area lies above 1,850 m in elevation (highest point: 2,800 m). Snow coverage on the slopes is therefore guaranteed during your vacation in La Rosière (and the ski area consistently ranks among the snowiest in France).

Vacations in La Rosière

All the benefits of a vacation in La Rosière , no matter the season

In winter, you can enjoy a wide range of family-friendly activities: skiing, of course (snow guaranteed), in the La Rosière ski area and the connected Espace San Bernado ski area, which gives you access to the ski slopes of La Thuile in Italy (direct access from the snow front to the lifts of the ski area connected to Italy, right from your lodging). But there are also plenty of activities for non-skiers: traditional or rail-guided sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating at the indoor rink, and walks on groomed trails through the pine forest and past chalets—all accessible to all-terrain strollers.

In the summer, too, the " lodge des Glaciers " is located near many sports and family-friendly activities: hiking, trail running, golf on the 9-hole course, road biking to the Petit Saint Bernard Pass, mountain biking at the Bike Park... Conveniently, a private bike storage area is included with your vacation reservation at La Rosière.
