book your holiday in La Rosière, on the French-Italian border!

“Benvenuto” to La Rosière, the Resort Where Life Is Seen in… Green-White-Red!

And for good reason: this “small” family-friendly ski resort in Savoie has all the qualities of a major station. In winter, it is connected to the La Thuile ski area in Italy’s Aosta Valley, giving you a taste of the dolce vita, pizza, and pasta just a few turns away on the Espace San Bernardo slopes.

Ski Holidays in La Rosière Rhyme with… Sunscreen!

Perched on a balcony at 1,850 meters altitude, La Rosière offers stunning 180° views of the Tarentaise Valley. Don’t forget your sunscreen before heading to the Lodge des Glaciers: its south-facing slopes will tempt you to lounge on the terrace at any time of day, face turned to the sun, eyes closed in bliss behind your sunglasses (or better yet: your category 4 lenses).

Holidays in La Rosière: A Must for Families, Winter and Summer

La Rosière is perfect for families — it’s even Famille Plus certified — and maintains a relaxed, authentic atmosphere. Many establishments are still run today by the children and grandchildren of the resort’s founders, making it a true family legacy. La Rosière is a well-kept secret (but for how long?) for anyone who loves mountain holidays in any season!

Fondue or Pizza? On Holiday in La Rosière, No Need to Choose!

The La Rosière ski area in the Tarentaise Valley, just a stone’s throw from the Lodge des Glaciers, is connected to the Italian resort of La Thuile in the Aosta Valley. In other words: in a single day, you can ski and enjoy the best of France and Italy! Great snow, delicious cheese, and a perfect pizza. Tutto bene!

Beginner and Expert Skiers Alike Will Love La Rosière

The Espace San Bernardo ski slopes, named after the Petit Saint Bernard Pass (closed to traffic in winter!), benefit from a dual North-South exposure.

On the La Rosière side, as you might guess from the resort’s logo, you’ll ski in the sun all day, with breathtaking views of the Tarentaise Valley and Mont Pourri. The majority of slopes are green and blue, making them ideal for families, beginners, and leisurely skiers, while a few red and black runs let you challenge yourself during your holiday.
On the La Thuile side, the skiing is more sporty and technical, with a higher proportion of red and black runs facing north. The pasta is well-earned!

Holidays in La Rosière: Don’t Miss This Spectacular View!

Crossing into Italy takes you past the Fort de la Redoute, offering a panoramic view of Mont Blanc. Take the opportunity to walk along the “Panoramic Experience” footbridge, suspended in mid-air, for a photo—or even better, a 360° Instagram story spanning France and Italy. Absolutely stunning!

Guaranteed Snow During Your Holiday in La Rosière

In total, the San Bernardo connected area offers 154 km of alpine ski slopes (officially measured!), making it the 13th largest ski area in France and 34th worldwide. Another statistic for ski fans: 83% of the ski area is above 1,850 m (highest point: 2,800 m).
