benvenuto ! welcome to La Rosière ski resort

In La Rosière, life is green, white and red ! And with good reason : this “little” Savoyard family ski resort with all the amenities of a large resort is linked in winter to the ski area of La Thuile, in Italy’s Aosta valley. Enjoy la dolce vita, pizza and pasta in just a few turns on the slopes of the linked Espace San Bernardo ski area. Perched on a balcony, 1,850 metres high, La Rosière has 180° breathtaking views over the Tarentaise valley. Remember to pack your suncream before setting off on your mountain holiday in one of the 15 ski-in/ski-out apartments at our Lodge des Glaciers complex. It faces south which will make you want to sit on the terrace at any time of the day, with your nose facing the sun, eyes blissfully closed behind your sunglasses (or rather : your category 4 lenses). The fact that La Rosière is so family-friendly (it even has the Famille Plus label) is also due to the fact that many of the establishments are still run by the children and grandchildren of the resort's founders. A real... family affair ! La Rosière ? A well-kept secret (but for how long ?) for all lovers of ski holidays and mountain breaks in all seasons !

the resort

the only french-italian ski area

The ski area of La Rosière in the Tarentaise valley, accessible in no time from your apartment at the Lodge des Glaciers, is linked to the Italian resort of La Thuile in the Aosta valley. In other words, you can ski and enjoy the best of France and Italy on the same day! Good snow, good cheese, good pizza (and a cosy bed in one of our ultra comfortable apartments for 6, 8, 10 or even 18 people). Tutto bene ! The ski slopes of Espace San Bernardo, which take their name from the Petit Saint Bernard pass (closed to traffic in winter!), have a dual north-south exposure. On the La Rosière side, as you'll have guessed from the resort logo, you ski in the sun all day long, with a spectacular view over the Tarentaise valley and Mont Pourri. The ski slopes, which are mainly green and blue runs, are particularly suitable for families, beginners and ‘quiet’ skiers (with the opportunity to also challenge yourself on the few pretty red and black runs of this slope during your ski holiday). On the La Thuile side, the skiing is sportier and more technical, with a greater proportion of red and black ski runs facing north. You’ve got to earn your pasta! The last stop in Italy is the Fort de la Redoute, with its panoramic view of Mont Blanc. Take the opportunity to walk to the end of the "Panoramic Experience" footbridge, suspended in mid-air, to take a photo (or even better: a 360° Insta story between France and Italy!) Magnificent ! In total, the linked San Bernardo ski area has 154km of downhill ski slopes (certified length!), making it the 13th largest ski area in France, and the 34th largest in the world. Another figure for the statistics fans : 83% of the ski area is above 1,850 metres high (highest point: 2,800 m). The slopes are guaranteed to be covered in snow during your skiing holiday (and the ski area regularly ranks among the snowiest in France).

Activities & Leisure
Enjoy 154km of skiing and snowboarding by buying your ski pass at a special rate. Buy your ski pass direct from us, get a discount of up to 50% (depending on the period) and avoid the long wait at the ticket office on Sunday mornings !
In winter, there’s no fewer than 27km of hiking trails, both on foot and on snowshoes, waiting to be explored by walkers (12km of which are prepared and groomed). On the schedule there are easy walks in the resort, between conifers and mountain chalets (a firm favourite is the forest path, accessible to all-terrain pushchairs and lit up at night!); longer routes, sometimes on foot and sometimes by ski lift, leading to panoramic views of the Tarentaise valley, the Aosta valley and Mont Blanc; and truly sporting hikes lasting several hours, at the heart of the ski area or through traditional hamlets with their chapels.
In summer, the best way to get your heart rate up is by bike... all the way to the Petit Saint Bernard pass, of course! Starting from your accommodation in La Rosière, expect 400m of elevation gain for around 8km (4% gradient). It gets tougher if you set off from Bourg-Saint-Maurice: 26.8km for 1,379m of positive elevation gain, with a gradient reaching 8% (or even more on small sections) at the height of the climb.
In winter and summer alike, you can get your adrenalin pumping with the X-treme luge, a single-rail luge for children aged 8 and over. The whole family can race down 700m at 45 km/h, right through the pine trees (covered in snow in winter - it's magical !)
There is also an ice skating rink in La Rosière (where you can even watch an ice hockey match), a golf course, a bike park... All within easy reach of your apartment in our Lodge des Glaciers complex, ideally located at the heart of the La Rosière resort. Good to know: a private bike room is included in the rental of your apartment in our complex.
