16 Apr 2025
Do you love cycling? Do you love running? Plan your summer holidays in La Plagne around the calendar of major sporting events taking place in July and August! The SUPER8 cycling event, the finish of the 19th stage of the 2025 Tour de France, and the 6000D trail race - three major events, three opportunities to dive headfirst into a festive, high-energy atmosphere, whether as a spectator or a competitor!

So when will you be checking in at Chalet Hôtel Turquoise this summer?
@JNJ-photo

Cheer on the pros during stage 19 of the Tour de France (July 25, 2025).

Are you a long-time fan of the Tour de France, used to spending your July afternoons in front of the TV, lulled by the voices of the race commentators? This summer, come cheer on the riders in real life — and no need to camp out for three days just to claim your spot!

130km of asphalt, 4 500 meters of elevation gain: tat's what the 22 selected teams will have tackled by the time they cross the finish line in La Plagne.
So...who do you think will come out on top in this epic 19th stage? Pogačar? Vingegaard? Or someone else? Place your bests!
@TristanShu

Our favorite part for the kids? It has to be the Tour Caravan! For around 30 minutes, Tour de France sponsors put on a fun, colorful show with wildly creative floats, handing out free (and eco-friendly) goodies to spectators as they wait for the riders. The Caravan? It's loud, it's joyful, it's legendary!

Want to stay in the cycling spirit all week? Challenge yourself on the Haute Tarentaise cycling routes leading to iconic Alpine passes like the Col de l'Iseran, Col du Petit Saint Bernard, or the Cormet de Roselend — or opt for more accessible loops, like the "Balcons de Tarentaise" route (just 140m of elevation gain over 29 scenic km)

Another can't-miss cycling event during your Tour de France stay in La Plagne: L'Étape du Tour! On Sunday, July 20 — just days before the pros battle it out — no fewer than 16 000 amateur riders will take on the full 19th stage route from Albertville to La Plagne. Come cheer them on!

Book your stay in La Plagne for the Tour de France

Run as a family on the trails of La Plagne during the legendary 6000D trail race (July 31 to August 2, 2025).

Is your family more into trail running shoes than cylcing cleats? Then forget the two bike events above and grab your bib for the 6000D! Like a fine wine (from Savoie), this legendary trail race, born in 1990, has only gotten better with age. In 2025, no fewer than 10 races will be on offer for runners of all ages (starting from age 6) and all levels (adult races range from 5 km to 69 km)
@JustinGalant - Office de Tourisme La Plagne
Our favorite for the kids: the 6D Kids race — a fun event designed for children and teens aged 6 to 15! A chance for your little ones to proudly pin on a bib and tackle courses suited to growing legs (both short and long!).

Keep the trail vibe going all week: continue exploring La Plagne's stunning scenery at a more relaxed pace on one of the hiking trails starting from Chalet Hôtel Turquoise. Choose from the balcony route (easy level), the Carroley loop (intermediate), or the Roche de Mio loop (difficult).
